Remy "The Flying Gentleman" earns a place for the K-1 GP final 8
Today one of the most important fights for Remy and 15 other fighters was about to be fought. The stake was nothing less than to earn a place for the K-1 Grand Prix Final 2008,later in December. The stage was set in Seoul's Olympic Gymnasium in K-1 Grand Prix Final 16 tournament. The Gatekeeper for Remy's ticket to the Grand prix Final 2008 was nobody less than Paul Slowinski.

This Polish fighter is relatively new in the K-1 circuit , but Paul has already established a name as being a tough and hard fighter. So it wouldn't be an easy task for Remy to achieve to the K-1 Grand Prix final 8. It was Remy's 2nd trip to Seoul and again there was a warm welcome by many fans who were waiting for Remy. In the hospital where Bonjasky had his blood examined, many fans rushed to Remy, some of them were limping all to make a picture or to receive an autograph of the "Flying Gentleman". Remy also received a very rare 2 dollar bill, according to many this rare 2 dollar bill brings good luck to the owner. This all made Remy love Korea even more.

Remy had prepared himself fully for this fight and the last days before the tournament, the generous fighter had really slept well and with the help of his fans it seemed like nothing could stand in the way of Remy performing well and made this upcoming fight to a success. Arrived at Seoul's Gymnasium the normal routine started as always. The bandage, the checkup with the doctor and some short interviews. The doctor told Remy his blood pressure was a bit high, but it was nothing to be bothered about.

After Remy executed his techniques with his trainers at the warming up Remy again replayed his game plan in his mind for the final time. The Flying Gentleman waited for his Theme song and he could enter the ring. Everything was set to finalize where Remy had trained so hard for. And then It happened Remy started to feel a bit nauscious and felt like he had to vomit. Nevertheless the sick feeling there was no turning back and Remy entered the ring.

The first round it was give and take for both fighters, where Muay Thai techniques followed from both fighters. "the Flying Gentleman" launched a few flying knees, which did connected but lacked the normal power and only left Paul with a bloody nose.

The 2nd round the pace quickened and Remy showed a lot of boxing combinations to Slowinski's body and head but Remy neglected to follow up with his low kicks. Slowinski also attacked with mainly boxing combinations.

The 3th round showed an attacking Slowinski with boxing combinations, mostly landing on Remy his defense, but Paul did manage to land an uppercut between Remy's defense. Remy responded by a few fast high kicks which connected to Paul's head, but did not create enough damage, to take Paul out. The bell for the last round sound and Remy had scored enough points and the referees anonymously choose Remy "the Flying Gentleman" as the winner of this match. In the dressingroom Remy still felt nauscious and what did not happened before the fight happened now, Remy Threw up a few times.

Remy and team Bonjasky were not happy with the way Remy performed. Nothing of this statement is in disadvantage of Paul Slowinski who fought well, but Remy could have done and should have fought a lot better, as the way he had shown in his last trainings. Team Bonjasky has to figure out why Remy felt the way he did and prevent it from happening again.

Nevertheless Team Bonjasky is happy that Remy "the Flying Gentleman" made it to the final 8 and Team Bonjasky will now focus on nothing else but Remy ending 2008 with the K-1 crown on his head. At the end of the tournament a lottery was held to determine the matchup for the Grand Prix Final 8. Remy was matched against Jerome Le Banner.

At this moment Remy "The Flying Gentleman" is enjoying a well deserved rest in Thailand and will comment about his match against Slowinski and his upcoming match against Jerhome Le banner soon as he gets back.
