Peter unfortunately did not recover enough from his knee injury and can’t fight. Remy is very enthusiastic to fight against Melvin Manhoef and furthermore to show his skills in Amsterdam, at yet another ”It’s Showtime” event. Remy immediately stated that the match against Melvin would either way result in a KO by one of the fighters. Everyone knows the fighting style of Melvin Manhoef, he always goes for a fast KO. With these two explosive strikers this match is tipped to be more than an exciting and technical fight! At that point Melvin was a beginner at the heavyweight division and I was already an experienced heavyweight fighter. It was a hard and technical fight. Tree times during the match Melvin received 8 counts. Eventually I won the match on TKO. if you analyze the last fights from Melvin it becomes very clear Melvin is dominating the MMA scene do you think Melvin has the same strengths within the K-1 rules as Melvin has within the MMA fights? No I don’t think Melvin has the same strengths within the K-1 rules as Melvin has in his MMA fights. Stand up fights are a different game an requires a different game plan than MMA fights.
